Stencil Nation June

Not much to report on the production side of things. Things have been quiet on the book production side this past month. Too quiet sometimes. Had to write a few small bits to fill some holes. I expect some rewriting for the latter part of the book will come my way, but nothing so far. On the promotional side of things, I have begun to work out a Pacific Northwest tour in June. So far, Portland, OR; Olympia, WA; and Vancouver, BC bookstores are in the process of booking my presentation. Will most likely premiere the presentation this April at CounterPULSE’s Wednesday talk series. Just wrote a proposal for doing a window at Modern Times here on Valencia St., and windows are in the process of being developed in Toronto, Portland, and Seattle. Next week, I will continue to try to book shows up North, begin to design a promo flyer, and finally get some solid dates for San Francisco events. A few other surprises are in store soon, but I don’t want to jinx them. Finally, two things happened today: Laura told me that the book is on preorder on Amazon (some of the information about the book is incorrect), and is being paired with Shepard Fairey’s Obey book. And, Jonathan called me from CELLspace tonight to tell me that the Negative Spaces mural was partially destroyed when someone pulled off about a quarter of the mural’s masonite. I was planning on adding to the mural this month, but now will make a new one. I’m not sure what the mural will be, and will have to make brand new stencils for it. Should be fun and hopefully collaborative (my favorite way to create).
