CELLspace’s Week-Long 15th Birthday Celebration
Since 1996 “The Best Multiuse Facility” (SF Guardian) in San Francisco has played host to every type of artistic, creative project imaginable. CELLspace has enabled tens of thousands of artists and spectators to experience the rich creative culture of the Bay Area. To rejoice in these past 15 years of providing “a safe and supportive public environment for the exploration of art, education, performance and community building”, the artists, workers, and volunteers of 2050 Bryant would like to invite you all to spend some time with us during the first week of May. We have something for everyone so hope to see you at the space that is CELLspace.

Raffle tickets will be on sale, giving away prizes form local businesses (see list below). Raffle to be drawn at the Action Jackson show on Saturday. You do not need to be present to win!

Esperanza Garden Celebration and Work Day
Enjoy the sunshine and possibly sink your hands in the soil at the garden that CELL helped build.

Danza Azteca Open House
An Aztec Dance is a ritual, is art, is exercise and is an amazing show. Please visit Danza Azteca, during their regular night in the Main Space, for a demonstration of this rich cultural art form.

B-Boy/Girl Open House
One of the pillars of Hip Hop, break dancing has been part of CELL since 1996. Stop by to watch or get your funk on with the regulars who meet weekly to feel the beats.

Tango Unbound Open House
The alternative Milonga is an effort to balance out the wonderful classic tango events throughout SF and the Bay Area with a progressive community endeavor.

SpaceCRAFT
The Gallery at CELL’s monthly First Thursday event. Community, art, and music from the artists and friends of CELLspace

SILENT ART AUCTION: SpaceCRAFT will feature a Silent Auction of artwork, with proceeds benefitting CELLspace. Â Bidding begins Thursday and ends Saturday, so bid high and bid early!
Friday, May 6
Swap Meet
Building community through cultural exchange.
Artists, craftspeople, vendors, DJs, and performers will gather at CELLspace for an evening celebrating a grassroots sharing of creations, ideas, and skills.

Zumba Dance/ Exercise: Celebrate Cinco de Mayo
ZUMBA combines high-energy and dynamic Latin rhythms with unique moves and combinations that allow ZUMBA participants to dance their worries and stress away. Share some snacks after.

Celebrate CELLspace’s 15th Birthday with a good old plate of food and a cold drink. Meet the artists, volunteers, and workers who call CELL home.

Sunday Streets
CELLspace will have an official program area along 24th St. for Sunday Streets in the Mission. Expect clowns, juggling, stilt-walkers, and carnival merriment. Bay Area Hoopers will be on hand to get your hoop on.
